Yes, we will always recommend comprehensive travel insurance as an essential part of your travel booking. Cruise lines can refuse boarding without it.

Travel documents and statements

Your statement will be emailed within seven days of booking (longer during busy periods).

Tickets are sent via email around 7–10 days before you travel.

Most tickets are electronic. We’ll email your documents to ensure you have everything you need before departure.

Passports, visas and health

You’ll need a valid 10-year passport. Most countries require at least six months’ validity from your return date. Visit Sherpa for more information.

Visa requirements vary by destination. Some are included in your cruise fare. For up-to-date information, check with the relevant embassy or ask our team when booking. If you’re travelling to the USA, an ESTA is required for stays under 90 days, and you can apply online.

Some destinations require vaccinations. Check with your GP or visit Sherpa for more information. 

Flights and airports

We recommend arriving at least two hours before short-haul flights and three hours before long-haul departures.

This varies by airline, typically around 20kg per checked bag. Check your airline’s website or contact our Aftersales Team.

Before you travel

Yes, most cruise lines require online check-in. You can complete this via your cruise line’s website using your booking reference.

Many of our cruise lines have online portals or dedicated apps. For example, Costa have their own app which gives you an onboarding QR Code. Plus, you can set your preferred dining times, book excursions and more.

Many cruise lines now have a mandatory health questionnaire that you are required to complete at the time your tickets are sent to you. Embarkation may be denied to any guest showing signs of illness such as fever or flu-like symptoms in case of potential exposure to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19, in the 14 days prior to embarkation.

Onboard experience

Cruises operate a cashless system. Purchases are charged to your onboard account and settled by credit card or cash at the end of your voyage. They may accept Euros, US Dollars or Pounds Sterling, depending on the cruise line.

A guaranteed cabin secures your cabin type, not the specific location. You’re guaranteed at least the grade you book and might receive a free upgrade!

Yes, just let us know if you’re celebrating a special occasion, and we can help organise extras such as champagne, onboard dining reservations or celebration packages.

Cancellations and changes

Cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to aftersales@cruiseclubuk.com. Fees apply as outlined in your booking terms. A cancellation invoice will be issued for insurance claims.

Yes, every ship has a medical centre staffed by qualified professionals.
